Yes, this is the beauty of SUP! it appeals to such a diverse range of age and fitness.
What if I have medical/ health conditions?
SUP is a great but gentle full body workout. It even gets your toes and muscles in your feet working :), and is especially incredible for clearing the mind and finding some mental relaxation, therefore it can help with a wide range of health issues. To be certain send us a private message and we can discuss further with you.
Is there a certain weight restriction?
Yes, riders need to weigh no more than 18 stone, 120kg

Yes, we require you to be able to swim 50m
Can children come?
Yes, our minimum age is 12 years old and they must have the strength and determination to manage the board independently, especially when it gets windy on the water! We ask that all under 18's have a parent or guardian with them on the water who must sign their consent.
What does a session involve?
You will be introduced to the basics of how to launch your board and will be taught correct paddle technique, which will get you moving up river, avoiding obstacles and lead you from Kneeling to Standing. You will also be shown how to dismount and remount your board in a safe way, be advised on river safety, hazards and a good amount of laughter and fun will be had along the way :) Time out on the river, surrounded by nature and abundant wildlife, it really is a very special experience.
Allow 90 minutes.
Is there an instructor?
Yes, there will be an instructor with you throughout your experience, though please be aware it is your responsibility to be able to get yourself back on the board, any questions, go to our enquiry form.
What do I need to wear?
Due to current circumstances we do not have a changing facility and encourage everyone to wear a swimsuit under their clothing. We encourage you to wear something light, layers are good and to bring a change of clothes. We encourage barefoot.
Where do we park and meet you?
Once you arrive at Woodford Mill, NN144DU. If you park in the overflow car park at the top of the hill, in front of the newly built wooden structure, as you walk down the hill towards the Tearooms we are directly opposite the road. You will see the boards and our team there waiting to meet you.
Please be aware that RUSHDEN LAKES TRAFFIC on the A45 can often delay your arrival so better to plan an extra 5 minutes into your journey if coming this way. If you are late and miss the briefing you will be unable to attend the session.
Is there somewhere non SUP'ers can wait?
Yes they can take a short walk to the bridge to view from above as we head up river. They can also indulge in tea and notoriously well known cake at the Water Mill Tearooms, see website http://www.watermilltearooms.co.uk
